Lawn mowing: We offer weekly mowing service that includes cutting the lawn with a commercial mower and trimming around trees and other areas with a gas-powered weed eater that cannot be reached with a mower. It also includes us blowing off any concrete or patio surface that we may have gotten grass clippings on.
Lawn rolling: We have a 3000 lb driving roller that we use to smooth out bumpy lawns. This roller will not remove deep ruts and will not damage sprinkler systems while we do request that you mark any sprinkler heads that sit higher than the grade of the yard before we roll. We typically only offer this service in the spring time and we charge by the hour.
Leaf & limb pickup: We offer this service to our weekly mowing customers. We use a commercial mower, commercial blower, and collection system to pickup and haul away leaves that have fallen on the lawn and landscape beds
Lawn aerating: We use a local professional subcontractor to perform this service. They use a core aerator to help stimulate grass root growth and to fight soil compaction. We typically only offer this service in the fall time.
Lawn fertilizing: We use a local professional and licensed fertilizing subcontractor to perform this service. Typically a good fertilizing program will have six applications that include a mixture of crab grass preventer, broad leaf killer, turf builder, and winterizer; each dependent upon what time of year it is. Some applications are in liquid form while others are applied in granular form
Edging: This is done with a portable powered carbide rotary steel blade. We use it along all concrete edges including driveways, sidewalks, and curbs. We do not edge along asphalt as it does not work since the edge is not defined like concrete. When the edging has been completed we clean up the debris and haul off.
Pruning: This is done with a commercial gas-powered pruner. We trim and shape all small shrubs and small ornamental trees in a professional manner. Then we clean up and haul off all debris from the pruning. This is best done on a routine twice a year schedule. If shrubs have become overgrown we also offer a very early spring dormant pruning that allows us to cut back more of the plant than normal without damaging it long term.
New Lawn Installation: We work with the customer to select the type of seed (we typically do not install sod) that will work best for their lawn. Dependent on the individual situation we will bring in topsoil, run through the lawn with a Harley rake, use a tractor and seeder, and install straw or straw blankets. Some of these processes will only be needed in certain situations such as seeding a hill side. After the seeding is complete we request that the customer keep the newly seeded area adequately watered and that it is not driven on or mowed over for several weeks in order to give the seed time to germinate and the new grass time to get established as a stable turf system. We do not offer any kind of warranty on lawn installation.
Landscape and plant installation: We work closely with the customer to select the type of landscape bed materials and plants that will work best for them; taking into consideration what types of plants will grow well, what plants and materials will take more or less maintenance, and budget. When installing rock landscape beds we will always encourage a commercial fabric weed barrier be used that we will install under the stone to prevent weed and grass growth in the bed. We also have several options for landscape bed edging with black plastic edging being the most common. Once beds and plants have been installed we request that the customer keep the new plants adequately watered to make sure that they are able to establish a healthy root system. We do not offer any warranty on plant installation.
